U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations Celebrates 19 Years of Service

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) marks 19 years of dedicated service to the nation, safeguarding borders and confronting security threats through its expertise in aviation and maritime law enforcement. Since its establishment, AMO has been at the forefront of ensuring the safety and security of the United States by leveraging cutting-edge technology, innovative capabilities, and robust partnerships.

With a force of over 1,800 federal agents and mission support personnel, AMO operates more than 200 aircraft and 300 marine vessels. These assets enable AMO to conduct critical missions across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, extending its reach far beyond physical borders to ensure comprehensive security coverage.

AMO plays a vital role in interdicting unlawful individuals and cargo attempting to cross U.S. borders. Through its operations, AMO dismantles criminal networks, enhances domain awareness in the air and maritime environments, and responds to contingencies and national taskings. These efforts not only protect the homeland but also contribute to global security.

Over nearly two decades, AMO has earned a reputation for excellence and adaptability in addressing emerging threats. By combining advanced technology with unparalleled operational expertise, AMO continues to evolve to meet the challenges posed by transnational crime, drug smuggling, and other illegal activities.
