U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations announces the seasonal Port of Goat Haunt will be closed for an unknown duration due to nearby wildfires.
The town of Waterton is under a voluntary evacuation alert due to wildfires threatening from the west and ferry service to Goat Haunt was discontinued Aug. 25. The National Park Service announced all trails originating from Goat Haunt are closed. It is unknown when Goat Haunt will reopen.
Goat Haunt is a remote port located at the south end of Waterton Lake, which can only be accessed by ferry from Waterton, Alberta, Canada, or by trail from the North Fork area of Glacier National Park in Montana. Travelers are reminded CBP clearance for travel to Goat Haunt is made prior to arrival at the port using CBP’s Reporting Offsite Arrival – Mobile (ROAM) app. ROAM app kiosks are available at the Shoreline Cruise Dock and Waterton Canada Parks Visitor Center for all those planning to visit Goat Haunt by ferry or trail.
