Meggitt Sensing Systems to Present Accelerometer Compliance and Advantages at Upcoming Shock and Vibration Symposium

Meggitt Sensing Systems, a Meggitt division and leader in sensing and monitoring systems for extreme environments, will address accelerometer compliance and advantages in two presentations at the upcoming Shock and Vibration Symposium hosted by the Shock and Vibration Exchange (SAVE) in New Orleans Oct. 17-20, 2016.

Details of the Meggitt presentations are as follows:

Wed., Oct. 19, 1:50 p.m., Bayside A

“Testing Compliance of High‐G Shock Accelerometers to MIL‐STD‐810G”

James Nelson, Mechanical Engineer Test methods for demonstrating compliance to MIL-STD-810G Change Notice 1, particularly Method 516.7 (Shock) and 517.2 (Pyroshock), including linearity, cross-axis sensitivity and frequency response. A summary of the procedures for each test will be provided, as well as example data from tests on Endevco 7280A and 7270A high-shock accelerometers.

Wed., Oct. 19, 2:30 p.m., Bayside A

“Rugged Piezoresistive Bridge Shock Accelerometer with Internal Signal Conditioning”

Randall Martin, Director, Mechanical Engineering
Alan Stillwell, Business Development Manager

The inherent advantages of a DC-response, piezoresistive, bridge-type accelerometer for pyro and mechanical shock measurements in flight systems and other applications requiring tighter tolerances and accuracies than available from unconditioned sensors.

In addition to these two presentations, Meggitt will offer a product overview session on Tues., Oct. 18, at 4:45 pm. in Bayside C, presented by Jennifer MacDonell, Silicon Product Manager. The company will also have an exhibit in booth #404 featuring the latest in advanced sensors for shock and vibration measurement.
