Officials in New York are calling the delivery of a pipe bomb to CNN an “act of terror” and have increased the police presence across the city as a precaution.
Law enforcement officials said a suspicious package that prompted an evacuation of CNN’s offices in New York City Wednesday morning is believed to contain a pipe bomb.
The officials said the CNN bomb was crude but operational and was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, who appears on air on other broadcast and cable outlets. Officials also found an envelope containing white powder in the package and are currently investigating it.
