Hernando County Emergency Management is hosting our 3rd Annual HERricane Camp, July 15th – July 19th, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. This FREE five day summer camp is for young women ages 13-15 to learn about emergency management as a career, the importance of preparedness, how to perform CPR, how to extinguish small fires, and how to build a disaster supply kit.
This program aims to grow and support tomorrow’s emergency managers, public health nurses, meteorologists, and public servants so that the future has a team that can handle hurricanes, wildfires, and/or public health emergencies.
You can apply to attend camp at 2024 HERricane Camp Application. Spaces are limited to 20 campers. Once full, applications will be placed on a waitlist.
