Hurricane Helene Assistance Deadline Looms

If you have sustained damage or losses due to Hurricane Helene in South Carolina, it is important to act quickly, as the deadline to apply for federal assistance is approaching. While the deadline has been extended to Jan. 28, there is only one week remaining to apply for FEMA disaster assistance.

FEMA still strongly urges survivors to apply as soon as possible, even with the extended deadline. After Jan. 28, you may still be able to submit documents, update your contact information and stay in contact with FEMA regarding your application, but you must apply before the deadline.

Homeowners and renters in Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Cherokee, Chester, Edgefield, Fairfield, Greenville, Greenwood, Hampton, Jasper, Kershaw, Laurens, Lexington, McCormick, Newberry, Oconee, Orangeburg, Pickens, Richland, Saluda, Spartanburg, Union and York counties and the Catawba Indian Nation can apply for federal assistance.

The original announcement can be found here.
