IAEM-USA Launches Emergency Management Performance Grant Survey to Assess Local and Tribal Preparedness Funding

IAEM-USA is requesting help in gathering information from U.S. local government and tribal emergency management offices about Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) funding.

As in previous years, IAEM-USA is partnering with the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) on this effort. NEMA is administering a separate survey for state directors, while IAEM-USA is collecting input from local and tribal jurisdictions. Each organization will analyze its own data, and IAEM and NEMA will jointly produce a report for distribution to key policymakers.

The survey’s narrative questions are particularly important. If you have examples of how EMPG directly supported an emergency response or an emergency management program activity, we strongly encourage you to include them. These real-world examples help us clearly convey EMPG’s value.

The survey is available HERE.

Information about this data collection is available on the IAEM website.

Please complete the survey by the close of business (COB) on February 13, 2026.
