Four arrested and one victim recovery after human trafficking operation in Durant, according to a press release from the Durant, Oklahoma, Police Department on April 25.
A law enforcement training [and] operation in Durant this week resulted in the recovery of a human trafficking victim and four arrests.
Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s Human Trafficking Response Unit, in conjunction with Skull Games, the Durant Police Department and the District 19 District Attorney’s office offered a two-day training session on advanced human trafficking. The agencies, with the help of numerous volunteering partners, recovered a victim on Thursday, arrested one individual suspected of sex trafficking and arrested three others for soliciting prostitution.
“We appreciate the collaboration of our law enforcement partners across the state to recover human trafficking victims and hold traffickers accountable for their crimes,” Drummond said.
The Bryan County Crisis Control Center and Choctaw Nation Family Violence Program also assisted in the operation and provided essential services and support. Nearly a dozen partnering law enforcement agencies and 24 law enforcement personnel participated in the training and operation.
