Coast Guard Medevacs 26-Year-Old Woman from Cruise Ship Near San Diego

The Coast Guard medevaced a 26-year-old woman Thursday off the Navigator of the Seas cruise ship approximately 30 miles west of San Diego.

Coast Guard Sector San Diego watchstanders received a report from the cruise ship at 12:10 a.m. of a 26-year-old woman with lower abdominal pain.

Watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac. The aircrew arrived on-scene, hoisted the woman aboard the helicopter, and transported her to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Coast Guard Air Station San Diego.

The woman was taken to Hillcrest Medical Center at the University of California, San Diego, where she was last reported to be in stable condition.
