Coast Guard Medevacs 37-Year-Old Potential Heart Attack Victim from Vessel Near Port Aransas, Texas

The Coast Guard medevaced a 37-year-old man from a vessel 35 miles offshore Port Aransas, Texas, Sunday.

Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders received a medevac request at 6:15 a.m. from a crew member aboard the vessel SFL FRASER stating a 37-year-old male crew member reportedly presented symptoms of a heart attack aboard the vessel. The duty flight surgeon was consulted and recommended a medevac.

Watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to conduct the medevac.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the crew member and transported him to Spohn Shoreline Hospital to awaiting EMS in reportedly stable condition.
