The U.S. Coast Guard Academy will host a cross section of defense analysts, operators and managers from government, industry and academia here for the Military Operations Research Society (MORS) 93rd Symposium June 9-12, 2025.
The four day symposium is expected to bring about 1,000 attendees from across the country to the Academy and to several spaces at Navy Subase New London. The event will not be open to the public.
MORS is made up of operations research professionals within the nation’s defense community that have worked to enhance the quality and effectiveness of operations research in the context of national security. Members include analysts, researchers, consultants and officers within the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, academic institutions, various think tanks and consultancy firms.
The society arranges symposia and courses, publishes books, a quarterly bulletin, and peer reviewed journal. Headquartered in Alexandria, Va., MORS is sponsored by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, and the Department of Homeland Security.
“We are honored and excited to support as the facility host of this important event,” said Academy Provost Amy Donahue. “This is a tremendous opportunity that brings together renowned experts and leading voices on operations research and national security.”
For more than 50 years MORS has fostered professional exchange within the military operations research community, encouraged the sharing of insight and information on challenging national security issues, and supported decision makers in national defense.
