President Trump and U.S. Department of Transportation Launches Freedom 250 Website

USDOT is Kicking Off the Countdown to America’s 250th Anniversary

U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy has announced the launch of the USDOT Freedom 250 website as part of a celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary led by President Donald J. Trump.

The USDOT Freedom 250 website tracks the Department’s upcoming commemorative events, showcases the official Freedom 250 brand tool kit, and highlights fun opportunities for Americans to travel the country to experience the rich history and beauty of our nation. This effort celebrates the critical role transportation has played and will continue to play in the growth of our nation—connecting Americans for a quarter of a millennium.

“2026 isn’t just another year – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate 250 years of American greatness. At DOT, that means highlighting how we’ve propelled the nation forward and encouraging families to enjoy all the beautiful places America has to offer. Together we will celebrate how far we’ve come and how much farther we can still go together,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy.

The Freedom 250 organization is working together with the White House Task Force 250, federal agencies, and the Commission to celebrate 250 years of American independence on July 4, 2026.

Together, these efforts are creating a movement for citizens, organizations, companies, and leaders to participate across the country to honor our nation’s proud history, cherish our God-given freedoms, and build the Golden Age of Opportunity for the next 250 years.
