U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton stepped back from the headlines to remind graduates of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Wednesday that the essential skills they have learned over the last four years — to be tough, faithful, resilient and true — will guide them for a lifetime.
“These are the quiet virtues of life in the real world, and you are fully prepared,” Bolton said.
Bolton gave a 15-minute speech praising the Coast Guard to the crowd of 240 new graduates and a few thousand friends and family who filled the stands at the academy’s football field.
