Coast Guard Eclipse 2022 Award Winners Uphold Diversity ‘Call to Action’

This year's theme was "Forward Together: Valuing Truth and Identity in Service."

The USCG Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan is a “Call to Action” for all members of the Coast Guard to preserve and promote dignity and respect in the Service.

The Coast Guard Academy held its 47th Annual Eclipse event on April 7-9, 2022. This year’s theme was “Forward Together: Valuing Truth and Identity in Service.” The Eclipse 2022 award winners who upheld the “Call to Action” and were recognized by the Vice Commandant at the Eclipse Awards Banquet on April 9, 2022:

  • Manson Brown Genesis Award: LCDR Akaninyene Inyang
  • Merle Smith Pioneer Award: LCDR La’Shanda Holmes
  • JoAnn Miller Community Award: Connecticut Rep. Anthony Nolan
  • Frances Neal Humanitarian Award: Prof. Alex Waid
  • Joseph Vojvoditch Award: LTJG Yuexing (John) Hu
  • Hallie Gregory Respect Award: MUC Megan Sesma, CG BAND
