Two ICE Officers Hospitalized Following Arrest Attempt in Baltimore

On April 2, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were involved in an incident in Baltimore that resulted in injuries to two officers and the individual they were attempting to arrest.

According to ICE, officers were conducting a targeted operation to arrest Ever Omar Alvarenga-Rios, a Honduran national with a final order of removal. During the operation, officers attempted a vehicle stop.

Authorities say the individual did not stop and drove through city streets before braking suddenly, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision. He then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody.

Two ICE officers and Alvarenga-Rios were transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries, including a reported concussion. ICE confirmed that Alvarenga-Rios remains in custody while receiving medical care.
