Irregular Warfare Center Seeks Research on Homeland Defense for 2026 Colloquium

The event is scheduled for September 15–16 in the Washington, D.C. area and will bring together a select group of 12 to 14 early- to mid-career researchers. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work and engage with senior scholars and practitioners in the field.

The 2026 colloquium will center on the theme “Irregular Warfare’s Impact on Homeland Defense,” with a focus on how evolving threats and opportunities could affect U.S. security. The IWC is encouraging submissions that examine areas such as operations in the information environment, emerging technologies, healthcare and medical support in irregular warfare, and threat finance.

In addition to presentations, selected participants may receive an honorarium and will be considered for future publication opportunities through the IWC.
