Jorge Pules

Mr. Jorge Pules is a distinguished professional with over 28 years of combined service in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the Department of Defense (DoD). He currently serves as the Chief of the Portfolio Integration Team at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), where he leads a team of civilian, military, and contractor personnel in linking the agency’s Research and Development (R&D) efforts to the needs of the Combatant Commands, the Joint Staff, and other key partners. Mr. Pules recently led a major effort to consolidate Science and Technology (S&T) portfolio functions, resulting in a more efficient and effective approach to both internal and external coordination. This initiative gained agency-wide recognition and earned him the RD Mission Support Award (1Q CY23) and the DTRA Team Award (4Q CY22). Previously, at the Department of the Army, he was hand-selected to form and lead a new S&T division for a highly specialized US Army Special Operation Unit. In this role, he forged key relationships across the DoD and Intelligence Community, leveraging over $320M in external RDT&E funding for critical projects, including the development of a first-of-its-kind hyper-spectral imaging sensor for the SOF community. Prior to his civilian service, Mr. Pules was a Cryptologic Technician and Reconnaissance Marine in the USMC, supporting various operations, including two WESTPAC deployments with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Mr. Pules earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Project Management, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and recently completed a Master of Science and Technology Intelligence degree from the National Intelligence University.
