Marc Kuzmicki has been named Deputy Chief of Intelligence at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), bringing nearly two decades of experience with the agency spanning intelligence leadership, field operations, and interagency coordination.
Kuzmicki will support the Chief of Intelligence in leading DEA’s global intelligence enterprise. His responsibilities include strengthening enterprise integration, strategic partnerships, operational support, and information sharing across the U.S. Intelligence Community, federal law enforcement agencies, and international partners.
Before taking on the Deputy Chief of Intelligence role, Kuzmicki served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge in DEA’s Washington, D.C. field office, providing executive leadership for operational priorities, strategic partnerships, and organizational initiatives supporting complex criminal investigations.
Kuzmicki also held senior leadership assignments at DEA Headquarters, Operations Division, and executive offices. During that period, he supported efforts involving operational strategy, intelligence integration, international programs, organizational modernization, executive operations, and interagency collaboration. He also served as Chief of Staff to the Associate Administrator, executive advisor to the Chief of Operations, senior liaison to the U.S. Intelligence Community, liaison to the Office of the Inspector General, and operational leader supporting North and Central America.
Kuzmicki previously served as Resident Agent in Charge in Reno, Nevada, overseeing DEA operations in Northern Nevada while working with law enforcement partners, community members, and media organizations on drug awareness and demand reduction efforts.
Earlier in his DEA career, Kuzmicki spent more than a decade as a Special Agent and Group Supervisor in Los Angeles, where he conducted complex investigations targeting cartel-affiliated organizations operating along the Southwest Border. He also served as a founding member of the Los Angeles Special Response Team.
Before joining DEA, Kuzmicki served as a police officer with the New York City Police Department, assigned to the 70th Precinct in Flatbush, Brooklyn. His assignments included patrol operations, the anti-robbery unit, and community policing.
Kuzmicki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University.
