Ralph Ferguson Appointed Assistant Director at ICE

Ralph Ferguson has stepped into a new leadership role at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), where he now serves as Assistant Director following nearly a decade with the agency.

Ferguson most recently served as Acting Assistant Director for Operations Support, a role he held from January 2025 through April 2026. Prior to that, he held several senior leadership positions within ICE, including Deputy Assistant Director for Fiscal Management and Deputy Assistant Director for Mission Support. His experience also includes serving as a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, Management and Program Analyst, and Supervisory Accountant.

His progression through financial, operational, and mission support roles reflects a career focused on managing complex programs and supporting agency-wide priorities. Ferguson’s work has centered on fiscal oversight, resource management, and operational support functions critical to ICE’s broader law enforcement mission.

Before joining ICE, Ferguson spent five years with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he served in multiple accounting roles, including Supervisory Accountant. His earlier career includes financial management positions with the U.S. Marine Corps and the South Carolina Department of Social Services, building a foundation in government finance and program accountability.

In addition to his federal service, Ferguson has experience in higher education, serving as an adjunct instructor and assistant professor at multiple institutions, including Western Texas College and the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Ferguson, a member of the Senior Executive Service, has focused his leadership on financial stewardship, accountability, and workforce development across government organizations.
