Tustin Police Chief Sean Thuilliez has been named the 61st President of the California Police Chiefs Association, stepping into the leadership role after previously serving as the organization’s Vice President.
Thuilliez currently leads the Tustin Police Department, a position he assumed in March 2025. In that role, he oversees all law enforcement services for the city, bringing with him more than two decades of experience across multiple agencies and assignments.
Before joining Tustin, Thuilliez spent 18 years with the Beaumont Police Department, including nine years as chief. During his tenure there, he held a range of operational and leadership roles, overseeing patrol, investigations, internal affairs, and community policing efforts. He also established Beaumont’s Quality of Life Team as part of the department’s community-focused initiatives.
His career in law enforcement began with the Redlands Police Department, where he first served as a Police Explorer and Reserve Officer before being sworn in as a full-time officer in 1999. While at Redlands, he worked assignments in patrol, field training, narcotics and vice investigations, gang enforcement, and special response operations, and later served as a corporal.
Thuilliez is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Class 245) and the California POST Command College (Class 55). He holds a master’s degree in management from the University of Redlands.
