The latest issue of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP)’s Inspire Guide series, titled “The Night Bullets Spoke,” glorifies the December 2025 Bondi Beach terror attack, highlighting it as a model for other “lone wolves” to follow. The guide, which was reported on by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM) project, also gives detailed instructions for making a pipe bomb. It is notable that the Bondi Beach attack has been praised and promoted for emulation by the official media of both AQAP and the Islamic State (ISIS).
Below are excerpts from the MEMRI JTTM report on the guide:
On March 28, 2026, the Al-Malahem Foundation, the official media outlet AQAP, released its twelfth Inspire Guide, in Arabic- and English-language versions. Titled “The Night Bullets Spoke,” the 16-page document glorifies the December 14, 2025 shooting targeting a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney, Australia’s Bondi Beach – perpetrated by father and son Sajid and Naveed Akram – and presents it as a successful attack for other “lone wolves” to emulate.

Lessons For Lone Mujahideen From Bondi Beach Attack
Deriving lessons from the attack for those who seek to emulate it, the Inspire Guide notes that the attackers “planned the attack with precision for months,” stressing that “preparing spiritually, physically, and mentally is an obligatory worship” for anyone involved in “any jihadi work.”
Noting that the “mujahideen heroes” had prepared homemade explosive devices – which the Guide does not mention failed to detonate – it notes that it is possible to create IEDs “from ingredients found readily in the West.” Pointing out that the attackers “were not chemists nor physicists nor bomb experts,” it asks, “[W]hat’s stopping you” from creating explosives like they did.
Challenge To Readers To Emulate The Bondi Beach Attackers
As a “final message,” the Inspire Guide glorifies the Bondi Beach attackers, asserting that they were motivated to avenge “the barbaric occupation of Palestine at the hands of the Zionist criminals” and “the killing, rape, and starvation faced by Muslim men, women, and children,” and that they “didn’t allow fear nor doubt nor their love of the worldly life to prevent them from helping the Muslim brothers and sisters.” It notes that they planned the attack well, preparing homemade explosives and surveilling the site in advance, then “waited for the right moments and carried [out] their mission in the most complete fashion.”
The Inspire Guide issue challenges its readers to “either live as a coward until you become accustomed to this feeling or sacrifice for the sake of the truth, honor, and sanctity of the Muslims, thereby achieving dignity for yourself and your religion.” Asserting that “the least you can do today as a Muslim living in America or Europe” is to follow the example of the Bondi Beach attackers, it urges: “Don’t let the interests of the Americans and Zionists survive for another day.”
Guide To Making A Homemade Pipe Bomb
Six pages of the guide are dedicated to a five-part “step by step guide” to creating a pipe bomb, taken from Issue 14 of AQAP’s Inspire magazine and originally prepared by slain AQAP operative Ibrahim bin Hasan Al-Asiri.
