TSA at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Urges Summer Travelers to Pack Smart, Arrive Early

With the summer travel season in full swing and upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 matches fast approaching, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is prepared to handle an increase in the number of travelers who will be flying out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) as well as airports nationwide.

“Our dedicated transportation security workforce is ready to ensure a safe, efficient screening experience for everyone,” TSA Washington Federal Security Director Robert Spinden said. “The most important things that travelers can do are get to the airport early and be prepared for the checkpoint screening process.”

Several days in the coming weeks could be among SEA’s busiest ever. The airport’s eight highest-volume screening days of all time occurred in June, July, and August of 2025, and several days this summer could top them. Sunday, June 14 and Thursday, June 18 – which kicks off a holiday weekend – are projected to see high travel volumes.
