SteelCloud LLC announced that an organization within the Department of Defense has purchased and implemented ConfigOS, its patented STIG remediation technology, to automate Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux security compliance. ConfigOS will be used to harden systems for both classified and unclassified applications.
"This implementation of ConfigOS has again proven that our leading-edge technology will simplify the arduous tasks involved in hardening systems and maintaining STIG compliance," said Brian Hajost, SteelCloud president and CEO. "STIG signatures were ‘tuned’ to the customer’s specific application requirements the very first day. For this customer, ConfigOS addresses both reduced cost of supporting security mandates while significantly enhancing mission agility."
ConfigOS is a patented ‘clientless’ solution for automating Windows and Linux policy remediation for physical, virtualized and cloud environments. ConfigOS was developed to address the DoD’s STIG mandates as well as other evolving governmental and commercial security requirements. SteelCloud has recently developed signatures to support the Center for Internet Security (CIS) security benchmarks. ConfigOS has been utilized in several of SteelCloud’s AWS cloud initiatives. SteelCloud’s products are available on GSA Schedule 70 as well as other government contract vehicles.
SteelCloud will be demonstrating ConfigOS at the upcoming DISA/AFCEA Defensive Cyber Operations Symposium in Baltimore on June 16-18 and again at the NSA Information Assurance Symposium in Washington DC, June 29 through July 1.
