ManTech International Corporation, a Virginia-based defense contractor with ties to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), announced on June 13 that the company has acquired Oceans Edge, Inc.’s cyber business.
The acquisition of Oceans Edge Cyber, which specializes in cyber network operations (CNO) will expand ManTech’s CNO capabilities and significantly increase the company’s presence in the government cyber solutions market, including service components of US Cyber Command.
The addition of Oceans Edge Cyber is the latest in ManTech’s expansion following the company’s decision to purchase cybersecurity company Knowledge Consulting Group almost a year ago.
“This acquisition, along with our acquisition of KCG last year, expands our presence with customers who are critical to our nation’s future cyber operations and cyber defense,” said L. William Varner, the head ManTech’s Mission, Cyber and Intelligence Solutions (MCIS) Group.”
ManTech said these purchases will increase their ability to provide cybersecurity services to government and commercial customers.
"ManTech is a cyber leader, and the acquisition of KCG fits with our strategy of expanding into the growing cyber services and homeland security markets," said ManTech Chairman and Chief Executive Officer George J. Pedersen.
ManTech provides support to national security programsfor approximately 50 federal agencies through approximately 1,100 current contracts. Acquisitions have brought in more than 200 employees to ManTech’s Mission, Cyber and Intelligence Solutions Group, including a highly-qualified team of cybersecurity professionals from Oceans Edge Cyber.
“ Oceans Edge Cyber increases our advanced cyber offerings and the cadre of experienced cyber professionals providing full-spectrum cyber security services and solutions wherever the mission dictates,” said Varner.
