FBI Postpones CJIS Division Industry Day Amid Ongoing Funding Lapse

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has postponed its Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division Industry Day due to the continued lapse in appropriations, FBI Assistant Director Timothy Ferguson announced.

Originally scheduled to take place this month, the event is now planned for November 19, 2025. According to the FBI, all registered participants should have received an email with additional details and updated registration information.

The CJIS Division, based in Clarksburg, West Virginia, serves as the FBI’s information-sharing hub for law enforcement agencies across the country. It manages key national systems, including the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS), and the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
