Jay Greenberg, a former FBI senior executive with more than two decades of experience in federal law enforcement leadership, has joined EY as a managing director in its Crisis & Investigations, Forensic & Integrity Services practice.
Based in Washington, D.C., Greenberg supports clients on crisis management, enterprise security, complex investigations, and compliance — a portfolio that aligns closely with his background overseeing high-stakes investigations and risk programs inside the federal government.
Greenberg joined EY in December 2025. In the role, he is working across areas that include crisis management, investigations, compliance, cybersecurity, physical security, and executive protection.
Before moving to the private sector, Greenberg spent more than 20 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving in a series of senior leadership posts. Most recently, he served as the FBI’s Chief Compliance Officer, where he led misconduct investigations and helped oversee the bureau’s risk and compliance apparatus.
Prior to that, he served as Special Agent in Charge for the FBI’s St. Louis Field Office, leading bureau operations in Eastern Missouri from 2022 to 2024. He also held a headquarters leadership role as Deputy Assistant Director in the FBI Criminal Investigative Division, where he managed criminal investigations globally and helped drive strategic shifts in partnership with U.S. government and international counterparts.
Greenberg’s experience also includes senior roles in the FBI’s Violent Crime Section, as well as leadership assignments in Chicago, Fort Worth, and Washington.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.
