Megan Norris Joins Maryland Tech Council Board of Directors

Megan Norris has joined the Board of Directors of the Maryland Tech Council, bringing a background that combines federal law enforcement, homeland security, communications, and technology-focused professional services.

The Maryland Tech Council is one of the region’s largest technology and life sciences trade associations, connecting industry, government, and academia to support innovation, collaboration, and growth within Maryland’s technology ecosystem.

Norris brings more than two decades of experience spanning public affairs, communications, federal law enforcement, and career development. She currently serves as Chief of Staff at growth[period], where she supports operational and organizational performance across the company’s business development, transaction advisory services, global risk management, and executive recruiting divisions.

She also serves as Senior Director of Career Services at ESGI Potomac, providing executive clients with guidance on professional materials including resumes, cover letters, board resumes, and LinkedIn profiles.

Prior to her current roles, Norris served 12 years as a Federal Air Marshal with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, conducting domestic and international missions focused on detecting, deterring, and responding to threats targeting U.S. aviation. During her federal service, she also held special assignments including Training Instructor, Public Affairs Officer, and roles supporting field operations.

Following her federal career, Norris founded Norris Editorial and Writing Services, providing writing, editing, communications, and professional development support to clients across law enforcement, security, military, technology, and other sectors. She is also a writer and editor with Homeland Security Today.

Norris holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Journalism from Miami University. She also maintains professional certifications including Certified Professional Résumé Writer and Certified Interview Coach.
