The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), Field Engagement Branch, in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, hosted a Corporate Security Symposium (CSS) on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in San Diego, California. The San Diego event marked the 100th CSS, a significant milestone in I&A’s continued efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships across the homeland security enterprise.
The San Diego CSS brought together 150 registered attendees from the private sector, federal, state, and local government, academia, and homeland security officials, with representation from 13 of the 16 critical infrastructure sectors. The event provided a forum for participants to discuss current and emerging security challenges, share best practices, and strengthen trusted relationships across government and industry. Topics discussed during the San Diego CSS focused on executive protection, artificial intelligence, intelligence and information sharing, emerging aerial threats, and securing mass gatherings and public spaces.
The 100th CSS milestone reflects nearly 15 years of engagement through the Corporate Security Symposium series. The first CSS was held in Boston, and since then, Symposia have taken place across the country and abroad, including in cities such as New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Huntsville, and Mexico City. Even in 2020, information sharing continued as the Symposia moved online to ensure the mission did not stop. To date, 27,560 private sector, federal, state, and local partners, academia, and homeland security officials have participated in a CSS.
The CSS continues to put into practice a lesson made clear after September 11, 2001: the need to share intelligence information and leverage that information across private sector, state, local, tribal, and territorial entities to support decision-making and, when required, action. CSS events consistently receive positive feedback from participants for providing timely and valuable information, as well as meaningful opportunities to engage with public and private sector stakeholders. The San Diego event reinforced DHS I&A’s continued commitment to building and sustaining partnerships that enhance preparedness, strengthen resilience, and support the protection of the Homeland.
