New Terrorism Research Journal Explores Online Extremism and Emerging Threat Trends

The latest issue of Perspectives on Terrorism (Volume XX, Issue 1, 2026) examines key trends in extremism, with a focus on online ecosystems, ideological distinctions, and terrorist recidivism.

Articles explore Salafi-jihadi activity in digital spaces, differences between violent jihadist and non-violent Salafist discourse, recidivism patterns in Belgium, and white nationalist narratives on 4chan.

The issue also includes research notes on Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), decentralized extremist “Com” networks, and a digitally driven European “grey zone” of terrorism.

It concludes with a bibliography on drone use in terrorism and counterterrorism, along with several book reviews on extremism and radicalization.
