The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum will host its next Better Conversations event on Wednesday, February 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring former FBI bomb technician Barry Black.
The program marks the release of Black’s new memoir, Hazardous Devices, and will include a discussion reflecting on his FBI career. Black served as a bomb technician during the investigation into the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and later became a global hazardous devices expert, working on complex explosive threats in the United States and abroad.
The conversation will explore his role in the bombing investigation as well as broader themes of service, sacrifice, and purpose drawn from his decades in federal law enforcement.
Homeland Security Today Executive Editor Kristina Tanasichuk also recently sat down with Black to discuss his new memoir and his career in hazardous devices response.
The event will take place at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, located at 620 N. Harvey Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73102. Registration is required. Lunch will be provided for registered attendees courtesy of the Kirkpatrick Foundation, followed by a meet-and-greet and book signing.
