The U.S. Embassy in Yemen has underscored Washington’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Yemeni government in the fields of maritime security and counterterrorism, while condemning what it described as “Iran-backed Houthi aggression.”
In a statement posted on its official account on X, the embassy said Chargé d’Affaires Neil Hop outlined the priorities of President Donald Trump’s administration during his first meeting with Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi.
The embassy emphasized that the United States supports Yemen in confronting security threats, noting that the Iran-backed Houthis “endanger the stability of Yemen and our partners in the region.”
