Ask Sage Unveils Edge AI Solution to Transform Military Operations

Ask Sage has launched Ask Sage Edge, a turnkey field-deployable AI solution developed with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, NVIDIA, Meta, and Nutanix. The platform brings production-grade Generative AI capabilities directly to military operations in denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) bandwidth environments.

“Ever wondered how you could get the full capabilities of Ask Sage, anywhere in the world, air-gapped? From a Humvee to a ship, submarine, to an air-gapped datacenter?,”  asked CEO and Founder Nicolas Chaillan in his announcement of the new development. “Well now you can! Thanks to Ask Sage Edge, you can now get access to the HPE Edge Line 8000 with 1 blade of NVIDIA H100 to run LLMs like Llama 4 and other OSS LLM options like Whisper and text-to-speech options, and sprinkle the power of Ask Sage capabilities on top of the Nutanix Kubernetes stack!”

The platform’s zero-trust architecture and government-grade compliance keep classified information within secure perimeters, meeting the government and regulated industries’ security requirements with FedRAMP High, DoD IL5, IL6, and Top Secret authorizations. Cloud agnostic, with support for 150+ AI models, it enables simultaneous processing of diverse data types essential for modern operations.

Why This Matters

Operational Independence: Security and defense operations frequently occur in environments where cloud connectivity is unreliable or unavailable, from disaster response zones to remote border regions. Ask Sage Edge ensures critical AI capabilities remain operational regardless of connectivity status.

Real-Time Decision Making: The solution processes data instantly where it’s created, eliminating delays from data transmission to centralized systems. For time-sensitive operations, this immediate analysis capability is mission-critical.

Enhanced Field Operations: Agencies can deploy sophisticated AI analysis directly to remote locations, maritime vessels, and forward operating bases. The system can analyze local data using multiple AI models without requiring headquarters connectivity.

Ask Sage Edge represents a fundamental shift toward AI-enabled operations at the tactical edge, addressing critical homeland and national security priorities. For the original announcement, click here.
