Minuteman Launches New Entrepid Series Battery Backup Systems

Para Systems, Inc. has announced the release of the Minuteman Entrepid Series of uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs).This new product line offers complete power protection designed to protect valuable equipment such as desktop computers, file servers, network devices, security systems, voice communications equipment, and home entertainment systems.

The Entrepid Series utilizes Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) technology to protect connected equipment from power brownouts and over-voltages, while also incorporating surge and spike protection. These new models also provide critical battery backup during power outages. The product line includes four models ranging in capacity from 500VA to1500VA.

The LCD display on the Entrepid Series enables users monitor all aspects of the UPS and utility power at a glance. The LCD shows power condition status, estimated battery backup time, battery capacity, total load, as well as other conditions.

Coupled with the LCD display, users have the ability to monitor power conditions via Minuteman’s SentryHD power monitoring software. Users have real-time monitoring capabilities of power status, along with the ability to plug into an existing SNMP network via the USB port on the UPS, using the SentryHD shutdown agent running of a remote computer.

Minuteman’s SentryHD software is available at no charge and automatically saves and shuts down unfinished applications, while gracefully powering down computers during extended blackouts. This feature prevents lost data as well as the need to re-install corrupted applications caused by power problems.

“The Entrepid Series is an excellent power protection solution for small to medium-sized requirements,” said Bill Allen, Director of Marketing. “This new product line represents an excellent value for price-conscious shoppers who are seeking a complete power protection solution in a compact, stylish package.”

Minuteman’s Entrepid products feature 6 on-battery receptacles, including 2 that are transformer-friendly, as well as 2 surge-only receptacles. In addition, all models feature hot-swappable battery replacement and independent battery bypass, allowing the UPS to function in AC Normal mode even when the batteries are dead, providing voltage regulation, surge and spike protection.

The new Entrepid UPSs feature ENERGYSTAR certification, meeting government efficiency ratings, along with being compliant with the Reduction of Hazardous Materials Directive (RoHS 2).

The Entrepid series features a 3-year limited warranty on electronics and 2-year warranty on batteries. As an option, an extended warranty can be added to provide a full five years of worry-free protection, including replacement batteries.

The products are now shipping in the US through Minuteman’s nationwide network of distributors and resellers, as well as authorized distributors in Canada, Central and South America.
