Evacuation Warnings Issued for Areas in San Diego County as Firefighters Battle the Growing Border 6 Fire

Evacuation warnings have been issued for parts of southern San Diego County as firefighters continue battling the growing Border 6 Fire, which is burning in the Otay Mountain Wilderness area across the U.S.-Mexico border from Tijuana.

The evacuation warning was officially lifted Wednesday evening around 6 p.m.

The wildfire, which started Monday afternoon near the Tijuana River drainage area in Marron Valley, expanded rapidly Tuesday amid challenging terrain and dry conditions.
