Law Enforcement Agencies Have Until April 15 to Submit Destination Zero Award Nominations

Law enforcement agencies have additional time to submit nominations for the 2026 Destination Zero Awards, with the deadline now extended to April 15.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), which leads the Destination Zero Program, is seeking submissions highlighting innovative officer safety and wellness initiatives aimed at improving both physical and mental well-being.

The program recognizes efforts that address known risk factors contributing to officer injuries and fatalities. Eligible initiatives may include programs focused on increasing seatbelt use, reducing distracted driving, expanding training, promoting physical fitness, or improving the use of protective equipment such as ballistic vests.

Destination Zero is designed not only to recognize effective programs, but also to share best practices across agencies of varying sizes and missions. The goal is to provide actionable ideas that departments can adapt to enhance officer safety nationwide.

Selected programs will be recognized during an award ceremony held in October in Washington, D.C., as part of National Police Weekend.
