Humboldt Bay Coast Guard Assists in Medevac of US Navy Ship

The Humboldt Bay Coast Guard successfully rescued an injured man from a US Navy ship on Wednesday.

The US Coast Guard’s Long Beach station reportedly received a medevac request for a 40-year-old man with a leg injury from the USS John McCain on Tuesday. At the time, the ship was traveling north along the California coast, prompting the Humboldt Bay Coast Guard to assume the role of search and rescue coordinator.
