Dr. Ajit Maan, a scholar and strategist specializing in narrative warfare and strategic influence, is featured in a new episode of a Podcast from the Government Services Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (GSACEP).
The episode examines the concept of narrative warfare and how it relates to military providers, leadership, and operations in complex conflict environments.
Maan specializes in narrative warfare and strategic influence in large-scale conflict. She currently serves as Professor of Practice for the Master’s Program in Politics and Global Security at Arizona State University, faculty with the university’s Future Security Initiative, and adjunct professor at Joint Special Operations University.
She is also the founder of Narrative Strategies LLC, president of the Military Writers Guild, editorial adviser for PRISM at the Irregular Warfare Center within the United States Department of War, and chair of the Narrative Strategies Vertical at Homeland Security Today.
Maan has authored five books, including Internarrative Identity, Counter-Terrorism: Narrative Strategies, Plato’s Fear, and Narrative Warfare. She has also edited works including Soft Power on Hard Problems: Strategic Influence in Irregular Warfare and Dangerous Narratives: Warfare, Strategy, Statecraft.
Maan has received recognition for her work, including the 2019 Most Innovative Campaign to Forward Mission award and the 2025 Trailblazer Award at Homeland Security Today.
