Cybersecurity Thought Leader Chuck Brooks Receives Georgetown’s Outstanding Faculty Award

Visiting Editor and Homeland Security Today contributor Chuck Brooks recently received the Georgetown University’s Outstanding Faculty Award (Tropaia Award) for the Cybersecurity Risk Management graduate program.

Tropaia, derived from the ancient Greek word for “trophy,” honors Georgetown community members who distinguish themselves through exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and character.

Each degree program at the School of Continuing Studies honors one graduating student and one faculty member for their exemplary work, both within and outside the classroom, who fully embody our core Georgetown values. Honorees are nominated by current students and faculty of each program.

Chuck was also recognized by DePauw University as one of100 DePauw alumni who have demonstrated the power of the liberal arts education.

Chuck has received numerous honors from companies, organizations, and publications for his expertise and influence in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology.

Chuck Brooks is a globally recognized thought leader, influencer, speaker, writer, and educator in cybersecurity and emerging technologies, with over 30 years of experience spanning government, corporate strategy, academia, media, and advisory roles.

For the past seven years, Chuck has been a. Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s Cyber Risk Management and Applied Intelligence programs where he has taught courses in risk management, cybersecurity, Blockchain, and homeland security. He designed his own popular course on Disruptive Technologies and Organizational Management.

As President of Brooks Consulting International, he provides strategic guidance to corporations, government agencies, and international organizations on cybersecurity, risk management, digital transformation, government relations, and technologies.

A prolific author, Chuck has published over 400 articles in outlets such as Forbes, The Washington Post, Dark Reading, and The Hill, and of course Homeland Security Today focusing on AI-driven threats, data privacy, quantum risks, and digital resilience.

He is author of the acclaimed book, Inside Cyber: How AI, 5G, IoT, and Quantum Computing Will Transform Privacy and Our Security (Wiley), offering leaders a practical roadmap for navigating these converging technologies.
