Ely Kahn Joins Okta as Chief Product Officer

Ely Kahn, an executive with deep experience across cloud security, threat hunting, and national-level cyber policy, has become Okta’s new Chief Product Officer.

Kahn joins Okta after serving as Chief Product Officer at SentinelOne, where he led product lines spanning endpoint, identity, cloud security, AI-driven SIEM, and security services.

Before that, he spent several years at Amazon Web Services as Principal Product Manager and product owner for AWS Security Hub, overseeing the product roadmap, partner onboarding, customer engagement, and go-to-market execution.

He also brings founder experience as a co-founder of Sqrrl, a threat hunting platform acquired by AWS and later integrated into what became Amazon Detective.

Before entering the private sector, Kahn held several key positions in federal cybersecurity leadership. He served as Director of Cybersecurity at the National Security Council, where he helped develop the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace and advised senior officials on cyber policy and incident response. Earlier, as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), he coordinated policy and strategy efforts related to critical infrastructure protection.

Kahn also led risk management and strategic innovation programs at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), where he oversaw development of digital authentication technologies and quantitative risk analyses of U.S. aviation systems. His early career included work at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he supported post-9/11 counterterrorism alignment and helped stand up the newly created DHS.
