Lisa Gunning has announced she is joining Anduril Industries as Deputy Director of Counterintelligence, sharing the news on LinkedIn.
Gunning brings nearly two decades of experience in counterintelligence, insider threat, and risk management to the defense technology company. She has held senior roles across government, technology, and the private sector, earning recognition as a subject matter expert in protecting major organizations from insider and external threats.
Most recently, she served as Principal Consultant at Vaillance Group, advising clients on human risk management and cybersecurity challenges. Before that, she led IBM’s global insider threat program, covering more than 300,000 employees in over 170 countries. At IBM, she doubled behavioral risk detection and spearheaded the company’s response to the North Korean IT worker scheme.
She also worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a counterintelligence and insider threat expert. Earlier in her career, Gunning spent more than 12 years as a Special Agent and counterintelligence investigator with the Department of Defense, conducting risk assessments and training thousands of personnel on security and cyber awareness.
Gunning holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and criminal justice from Michigan State University.
