Frontex Seeks Proposals to Host Training for European Border and Coast Guard Standing Corps

As part of its efforts to establish the European Border and Coast Guard Standing Corps, Frontex has issued a call to EU member states and Schengen-Associated Countries to apply for funding to support the implementation of the contact learning phase of the Basic Training Program.

Due to restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Basic Training Program for the EBCG Standing Corps Category 1 had to be temporarily redesigned by transforming the first three months of the training content into an online environment format. Therefore, the first group of recruits is currently being trained in a separate online learning phase.

The remaining three months (contact learning phase) of training will need to take place in a training institution(s). Therefore, Frontex is launching this call for proposals. Frontex is looking for specialized institutions for training and education in member states that can provide the logistical and administrative support for the practical implementation of the three months contact learning phase, starting in September 2020. Up to 265 learners will follow the contact learning phase of this edition of the Basic Training Program.

The deadline for submitting applications is July 24 2020.
