The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM) project published a new report about an ISIS infographic showing that regional affiliates conducted 587 attacks during the first half of 2026.
On July 6, 2026, ‘Amaq, the media arm of the Islamic State (ISIS) released an infographic claiming that the group carried out 587 attacks across several countries during the first half of 2026, incurring 2,529 casualties.

Most Common Form Of Attack
According to the figures presented, armed assaults were the most common form of attack, accounting for 205 operations.
The group also reported carrying out 75 bombings, 51 ambushes, 30 assassinations and eight infiltration attacks, while an additional 218 incidents were categorized under other operational methods.
Nigeria — Highest Number Of Attacks
The infographic indicates that Africa remains the primary theater of ISIS activity.
Nigeria recorded the highest number of attacks with 250 operations, followed by the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) with 138 attacks and Mozambique with 56. Other countries listed included Niger, Somalia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, the Philippines and Iraq.
Congo — The Most Casualties
Despite recording fewer attacks than Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) accounted for the highest number of casualties, with 769 people reported killed or wounded. Nigeria followed with 696 casualties, while Niger recorded 290 and Pakistan 248. Mozambique registered 150 casualties, Burkina Faso 122 and Somalia 113.
Material Losses
The infographic also highlighted material losses allegedly inflicted during the attacks. ISIS claimed that 380 vehicles were destroyed or burned, including 196 military vehicles, 67 armored vehicles and 117 vehicles in other categories. Another 56 vehicles were reportedly seized by the group.
In addition, the group claimed that eight aircraft, including military, helicopters, and civilian aircraft, were destroyed or damaged during the reporting period.
