FBI Director Christopher Wray has announced that David T. Resch will be the new executive assistant director of the Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch.

He will oversee all FBI criminal and cyber investigations worldwide, international operations, critical incident response, and victim assistance.

Most recently, Resch served as assistant director of the Training Division at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va. He joined the FBI as a special agent in the Houston Field Office in 1996 and was promoted to the Crisis Management Unit in the Critical Incident Response Group in 2003. In 2008, Resch became the supervisory special agent of the gangs, violent crimes, and cyber programs in the Richmond Field Office and served there as the Joint Terrorism Task Force supervisor. In 2012, he became the assistant special agent in charge and was responsible for all criminal and administrative programs in the Richmond Field Office. In 2014, he became the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Little Rock Field Office, where he served until 2016.

Wray also announced the appointment of Andrew W. Vale as executive assistant director of the Human Resources Branch and Nancy McNamara as assistant director in charge of the Washington Field Office.

Vale will oversee the Human Resources, Training, and Security divisions as well as the FBI’s leadership development program.
