Terrorism Could Soon Go Digital and Destroy Whole Economies

Global terrorism networks may soon move away from traditional means of inflicting damage on their unsuspecting victims and shift towards means that could effectively destroy whole economies with a single strike. In other words, there would be no more IEDs and AK-56s’ wreaking havoc on people. Instead smart hackers and intelligent coders would be sitting in dark dungeons creating codes that could virtually shut down economic activities – right from power stations to banking and everything in between.

Having grown wiser to the challenges thrown by malware, researchers across the world have been working on using the principles of quantum physics to come up with a new version of the Internet that would prevent eavesdropping while making all forms of communication perfectly safe in the digital world.

However, researchers at the George Washington University, have come up with a startling discovery that possibly lays waste to all efforts that have gone into the creation of the quantum version of the Internet. A report published in the MIT Technology Review suggests that a new brand of quantum terrorists could bring the Internet to its knees instantly and that too without revealing themselves in any way.
