Serco Awarded $47 Million US Navy Hazardous Materials Operations Contract

Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the federal government, announced today that the Company has been awarded a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) inventory management contract with the US Navy’s Fleet Logistics Center San Diego. Under this contract Serco will provideexpert personnel for the procurement of HAZMAT materials in order to buy, track, stock and provide items on request across the Navy’s Southwest Region. The five-year contract has a one-year base period and four one-year option periods, valued at $47 million, if all options are exercised.

Serco will work with the US Navy to standardize HAZMAT management by integrating the Company’s proven forecasting management model. Serco will also seek to identify viable substitutes to HAZMAT materials and ensure stock levels meet the US Navy’s needs along with the required Military Specification, Federal Specification and Commercial Item Description requirements.

Serco will supply support to the US Navy at various Naval installations within the Fleet Logistics Center San Diego (FLCSD) region, as well as partner sites in the Southwest Region including Naval Base San Diego, Naval Air Station North Island, Naval Air Facility El Centro, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Naval Base Ventura County and Naval Air Warfare Center China Lake.
