Pima County Water Reclamation Adds Perimeter Surveillance to Additional Facilities

PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (PCRWRD) continues in its efforts to ensure protection of Arizona’s water resources and ensure public safety with further deployment of perimeter surveillance capabilities. The most recent deployments at the Green Valley and Corona de Tucson sites, just outside of Tucson, AZ, include the PureActiv® geospatial video analytics for detection and advanced camera automation.

The systems, installed by system integrator CS Technologies, comprise multiple security technologies aimed at protecting the perimeter and critical assets of these water reclamation facilities. The installations, anchored with OnSSI’s Ocularis video management software, features intrusion detection through PureActiv geospatial video analytics. Furthermore, both sites include infrared (IR) cameras manufactured by FLIR.

“As PCRWRD continues to ensure the security of its wastewater facilities, PureTech Systems is proud to be part of this expansion,” explained Kevin Haeberle operations manager at PureTech Systems. “The combination of the OnSSI Ocularis video management software combined with PureTech Systems’ video analytics alongside the FLIR’s thermal cameras will provide Pima County state-of-the-art protection for many years.”

Rod Graupmann, a PCRWRD Program Manager added, “PCRWRD’s mission is to protect the public health, safety and the environment by providing quality service, environmental stewardship and renewable resources. Part of this mission is insuring the public safety by securing our wastewater assets. We are pleased to have PureTech Systems as a partner in this effort."

Five of the nine PCRWRD facilities now utilize the OnSSI / PureTech Systems perimeter solution. The PCRWRD video surveillance securitysystems are monitored 24/7 in the new Tres Ríos Operational Control Center (OCC). The complete expansion and upgrade of this same facility recently received the prestigious American Public Works Association (APWA), Arizona Chapter, Project of the Year award.
