In a step which could significantly overhaul asset protection and critical communications, IDV Solutions announced it has partnered with critical communications provider Everbridge to combine the companies’ asset protection and communication software in a cooperative effort that could enhance global security for businesses based here in the United States and elsewhere.
The technical partnership will integrate Everbridge’s Mass Notification System with IDV Solutions’ Visual Command Center, enabling organizations to protect employees, facilities and business continuity by instantly communicating with selected contacts who could be threatened by severe weather, disease outbreaks, acts of terrorism, cyberattacks, IT incidents and other risk events.
Utilizing cloud-based technology, the Everbridge platform acts to ensure messages reach their targets in a crisis.
IDV Solutions’ Visual Command Center is designed to help organizations assess in real-time their assets, personnel and operations in relation to potential threats by uniting information on sources of risk, such as weather, terrorism and natural disasters. When a risk is detected, an alert is issued via the command center to take action to mitigate the threat.
Combining these platforms will enable faster response times to sources and risk and will help mitigate the negative impact on organizations’ personnel, assets and operations.
According to Mark Morrison, CEO and co-founder of IDV Solutions, "This integration helps organizations leverage Everbridge’s robust critical communication capabilities to quickly mitigate or eliminate the impact of risk to their people, assets, and operations."
For example, if there is a terrorist attack on an oil refinery or a hurricane approaching a coastline where a corporations has assets, the Visual Command Center will identify it, and through the Everbridge system, notify any relevant contacts, allowing necessary actions to be taken rapidly.

This is the latest in IDV Solutions partnerships with companies using cloud based technology. In March 2015, IDV Solutions partnered with Geofeedia, a company that has produced a social media monitoring platform based in cloud technology. The partnership is designed to provide instant intelligence from social media, enabling rapid response to any risk.
In addition, Everbridge has integrated its system with MetricStream, which provides governance, risk and compliance management Apps. Vasant Balasubramanian, vice president of product management at MetricStream, said , “…users will be able to more simply and accurately communicate key business recovery steps and notifications."
The partnership of IDV Solutions and Everbridge represent the importance of not only having proper risk management systems, but the necessity in the era of cloud technology to instantly be able to communicate across the globe in crisis conditions.
This partnership, along with the others activities of the companies during this year, also indicates a growing trend of incorporating innovative software into the security policies of businesses, and perhaps beyond.
