The first fully AI-generated streaming series has arrived – and one of its creators comes straight from the front lines of America’s border. Monster Hunters, now streaming for free on X and YouTube, blends paranormal mystery with covert operations from the mind of retired U.S. Border Patrol agent and author Rocky Elmore.
Elmore, who spent 20 years patrolling some of the most rugged and unpredictable terrain in San Diego, Kingsville, and Tucson, is known for his book Out on Foot: Nightly Patrols and Ghostly Tales of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.
Monster Hunters imagines a shadowy government unit tasked with investigating and containing everything from extraterrestrial sightings to paranormal disturbances. The show is being described as the world’s first AI-generated streaming/TV series, using AI tools to bring scenes, characters, and stories to life at a pace traditional production can’t match.
While AI handled much of the visual and technical execution, the creative spark comes from its human collaborators. Executive producer and co-creator Allan Duffin – known for his work on history and law enforcement series for networks like History and Discovery – also helped shape the show. But Elmore’s background as a frontline agent and natural storyteller gives Monster Hunters its narrative backbone.
Before jumping into television production, Elmore spent two decades serving as a U.S. Border Patrol agent, joining the force at 34 after a full private-sector career. His assignments took him across the Southwest, where he experienced everything from intense human smuggling interdictions to eerie nighttime encounters in remote borderlands.
