WEBINAR 4/28: Implications of the War in Iran for Climate Security

Join the Stimson Center on April 28th for an online discussion on how the conflict in the Middle East is reshaping environmental and human security across the Middle East and North Africa region. Register here.

While climate change is a global driver of instability, the Middle East and North Africa region stands out as a climate security hotspot, where environmental pressures and conflict dynamics reinforce one another. As the conflict between Iran, the U.S., and Israel intensifies and continues to spill over across the region, its consequences extend far beyond the battlefield, increasing pressure on food systems, water resources, energy infrastructure, and forcefully displacing communities in Iran, Lebanon, and elsewhere across the region.

This webinar, hosted by the Stimson Center’s Environmental Security Program and the AMENA Foundation, will bring together leading voices to examine how the intersection of war and climate change is driving new forms of insecurity, particularly in already fragile environments. Focusing on human security, the conversation will address food and water scarcity, energy disruptions, displacement and migration flows, and broader societal impacts.
