Tropical Storm Sebastien Could Become a Rare Late-Season Atlantic Hurricane

Tropical Storm Sebastien continues to gain strength in the central Atlantic Ocean where it could to become a rare late-season hurricane.

Sebastien is more than 400 miles north-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. The tropical storm is moving northeast into the open Atlantic waters and remains no threat to land.

Additional strengthening is forecast and Sebastien could reach hurricane strength for a brief time before the week is over.
